The African bush was home to Ingrid during her childhood , instilling in her a profound love for nature and its lavish bounty .Without formal art training she began her career as a
commercial photographer .

However she was drawn back to the wild places, and worked in the Zambezi valley and in Chobe , Botswana as a guide to foreign tourists until moving to South Africa in the 1980's .

She only managed to paint in her spare time in the 1980's and 90's whilst raising her two sons , but now enjoys painting full time in both
oils and pastels exhibiting together with her son Leon.

Aside from African wildlife , Ingrid also specializes in painting nguni cattle and
horses.
